Scholars around the world agree that words, in any language, are powerful, including words that society agrees are "bad" or "wrong" to us in public. Yet we hear profanity and cursing so much, it seems as if few people really care about its effect on others.
There seems to be almost universal agreement that cursing and the use of profanity is not appropriate. And it certainly has no place in a work environment. As our culture changes over time, our language also changes. But one thing that remains the same for all of civilization is the power of language and its effect on all of us.
