Respect. It's something we all want. Treating others with respect is a basic tenant of living in a civilized society. These basic tenants are being forgotten and this may be the result of changing values found in the popular culture. There are consequences, for the change in attitudes.
On this installment of OPEN FORUM we take a look at how the level of respect in the classroom may be affecting our childrens' education. If young people show less and less respect for their teachers, does it hinder the learning process?
We spoke to several education professionals and students; they all have unique takes on this topic. Some believe respect should be earned and others believe certain occupations come with an expectation of respect.
This is a diverse topic as any other in today's society, however, one thing we can all agree on is the education of our youth is the most important issue at hand and we need to do everything in our power to ensure a fruitful education.
