Ayna 19-Jordan 2
This week Saim continues his journey through Jordan with stops at several of the countless religious sites in the country. Home to significant locations to the world’s three major religions, Jordan has witnessed biblical events, battles and burials. This segment begins with visits to the ancient city of Jerash whose Roman architecture remains largely intact and the Wadi Rum desert, located in the south of Jordan. From there Saim ventures on to the site of Jesus’ baptism along the Jordan River, the final resting place of Abu Ubaidah bin Al-Jarrah, and Mount Nebo where Moses went to catch a glimpse of the Promised Land. He visits the sacred tombs of Josiah, Jethro, and Ja’far bin Abi Talib as well as the site of the Battle of Mu’tah fought in 629. He ends his trip to Jordan exploring the Ma’an Train Station, part of the Hejaz Railway System built in the early 1900’s. A fascinating adventure packed with historical and religious relevance awaits you when you join us this week on “Ayna.”
