This week Saim takes us to not one but two exciting locations as he travels to the islands of the Maldives and to Nepal. In the Maldives he visits the island of the capitalcity of Male taking in the gorgeous sights from a boat tour on the Indian Ocean. In Nepal, he and the crew board a plane to view the majestic mountain range that includes Mount Everest and Pakistan’sK-2, the largest and second largest mountain peaks in the world respectively. Back on land, he visits the Monkey Temple and watches hundreds of Buddhists as they take part in a prayer service, circling the temple over and over, clutching their prayer beads. The segment ends with a tour of a workshop where yarn is spun to make exquisite hand woven Nepalese rugs. Saim learns that the rugs can take up tosix months to complete and are sold to buyers from all over the world.
