The little known but fascinating Central African country of Cameroon is Saim’s destination this week. While there, he takes in the country’s many sights and sounds, including a festival featuring avariety of traditional dances performed by several of the more than two hundred tribes that call this region home. A trip to the market place offers fresh meats and produce, dried fish, wood carvings and shoe salesmen with a very unique way of advertising their products. Saim travels by boat down the river to visit a remote Pygmy village and learn about the tribe’s culture and day-to-day existence. Returning to the capital city of Yaoundé, he tours the prestigious Amity International College – a school operated by Turkish citizens which offers children in Cameroon an advanced education specializing in areas such and math and science, that will give the students a competitive edge when faced with future opportunities. Opportunities that will hopefully benefit the country of Cameroon. Join “Ayna” this week as we explore yet another corner of the world.
