Saim continues his voyage through Morocco with a visit to one of its most well-known and beloved cities– Casablanca. While there he explores the breath taking Hassan IIMosque whose construction cost over $500 million by the time it wasfinished in 1993. The structure boasts a countless number of impressive features including public baths and the tallest minaret inthe world. After touring the mosque, Saim pays his respects to its benefactor, King Hassan II at his final resting place in nearbyRabat. Mounted soldiers stationed out front solemnly guard the gravesite. In Tangiers, the closest African city to Europe, and located on the Straits of Gibraltar, Saim takes us to an unusualcave, the entrance of which has been carved over time, by the lapping waves, into the shape of Africa. In the city of Tetouan, we’re ableto admire the artistry of the talented tile and plaster workers andthe embroiderers whose work morocco is famous for.
