In the pilot episode of this dramatic series, a young doctor named Hulusi Haktan tries unsuccessfully to revive a little girl injured in a car accident. When the child’s father learns that his daughter has died, he blames the doctor for her death and vows that some day Hulusi will feel the same pain. He bides his time while Hulusi’s wife, the compassionate teacher, Sevgi, gives birth to a baby girl named Nesibe and watches from the shadows as the little girl grows. Finally, the opportunity he’s waited for comes up and he steals Nesibe from a distracted Sevgi, disappearing off the face of the earth and shattering the Haktans’ lives forever. A jump fourteen years later finds a still-heartbroken Sevgi celebrating her oldest child’s graduation from the police academy along with Hulusi and their youngest daughter Zeynep. Kenan, along with his adopted brother, Kadir, promises his mother that as a police officer he will devote himself to finding the man responsible for his sister’s disappearance.
