In the pilot episode of this dramatic series, meet Salih Demir, an honest, upstanding mill worker who is supporting his pregnant wife and disabled mother in the Turkish countryside in the 1970’s. The family’s limited income is stretched even further by the fact that Salih is also working to pay off a debt held by his late father to a tyrannical neighbor.
