Two computer hackers are earning their money by breaking into the computers systems of firms and finding weak points in the security systems. They then demand money from the firms for remaining silent about what they've discovered. They are just discussing their most recent "deal" with their friend Bettina via an internet video connection, when, all of a sudden, shots are fired. The two hackers fall lifeless to the floor while Bettina watches helplessly on the video screen. And since she has a copy of the stolen data, now she too is a target for the killers.
Meanwhile, the AK1 Team is called to the scene of the crime. They find out that the murders were committed with a new High-tech weapon, equipped with X-Ray sites that can see through even the thickest walls. Shortly before their murder, the two hackers had stolen the construction plans for this weapon from the data file of the firm Meditech. Charly and Rubelli take a closer look at the head of this firm, Markus Krenz. He seems to know nothing. In reality, however, he and his accomplice, the weapons dealer Steffen Fessner, plan to sell a whole ship's container of these forbidden high-tech rifles.
Shortly thereafter, the AK1 Team manages to find Bettina and, just to be safe, they take her into protective custody. Bettina is able to escape, however, and she makes an appointment with Markus Krenz (pretending that she wants to sell the construction plans). In reality, she wishes to take revenge for her dead friends. The meeting is to take place on a boat which is moored on an inland waterway. There, Fessner is already waiting for Bettina. Just as he starts to aim at her, the AK1 Team intervenes. The AK1's armour is able to repel even the high-tech rifle's bullets, but then Fessner takes aim at Bettina. In desperation, Rubelli uses the impulse cannon to shoot at a nearby crane---and, just in the nick of time, is able to save Bettina's life. His shot destroys the electronic controls of the crane. A heavy hook together with its chain crashes down and buries Fessner. |
